AT THE END OF A MILLENIUM VOW

From dawn 'til twilight, a vow lasted all of time
A millenia passed by, though the end would rise
The Millennium Tree saw all of humanity
Witnessing the start and end, the history of crime and punishment

At the start, at the start, in the woods touched only by moonlight
There I met Eve and fell in love, my heart taking flight
I taught her the location of the fruits she sought the most
And watched as she came upon them, holding the two close

That touch was the beginning
Of the sins that would send the world spinning

Seven lights sprouted nearby, pulsing in a rainbow
The sorceress of time would search for them in thick and thin, though

A decennium passed, bringing all sorts of madness
At the end, the demons then put plans in motion
There was nothing to do as a small woodland robin
The only choice I could make
Was to watch the world and spectate its sin

One day, the sorceress of time looked for her first apprentice
To my surprise, she said I was perfect for this
Reincarnated into a human, the form I chose
Was that of Eve, the witch who once made my heart ache so

And with a glimmer of light
"I" became a "me" with a heart so light

Little by little, I surely came to understand
The happiness that humankind feels is truly so grand

The shy girl I met, us working now as servants
Charmed my heart although her past brought us both to cry
In those days of love and life, I forgot all of our strife
Before I could say goodbye, I found that malice was right by my side

The assassin who sliced me open, a dagger in my chest
Had they been a pawn in the Daughter of Evil's nest?
Drained of all my strength, it was all I could do to regress
A small sapling, the old Millennium Tree lifeless

So I decided I'd watch the world
As the new Millennium's leaves unfurled

Then, one day, after a century had passed, I found
She was in the forest again - Eve, who's life had been bound

A quincentennial - with its end, turmoil arose
I never thought I would see her again, although..
The sorceress of time then took Eve in and met an end
Eventually, everything I've witnessed will, by a wrathful soul, rend

Hating her father, the unhappy Nemesis caused his fall
After that she, at some point, became ruler of all
And then, the world in her hands, she swore to reduce it to grist
The end had come: engulfed in flame, the world was punished

And, at the end of all time
That is when the seven sins did decline

But, even in a land barren of any hope
My heart still dreams and yearns for a world where nobody must mope

From dawn 'til twilight, a vow lasted all of time
A millenia passed by, though the end would rise
The Millennium Tree saw all of humanity
Witnessing the start and end, the history of crime and punish—

With light springing steps, I'll see to this vow of mine
With everyone I will sing, our hearts combined
As the world once more turns, as we all are reborn
Before us, an open door to whichever utopia you wished for
